Talking I'm getting a Sun Conure!!

I have wanted a sun conure for the longest time, they're the reason I got my budgies in the first place. I saw a cute little sunny at the store, and he came over to me and was waving hello My boyfriend has wanted to get a bigger bird for some time. He wanted a cockatoo, which I know we don't have the time for right now, so I managed to convince him that sun conures were fantastic, and after seeing the cuties the breeder had, he agreed, so in 2 weeks we get to take him home!

On February 10th I get to bring him or her home from the breeder So in the next two weeks I need to find a cage and get prepared for the new ones arrival.

If anyone here has a conure, I'd love to hear advice or links to a forum or site all about conures would be great I'm a bit nervous but super excited! Can't wait for Feb 10th to get here!!

Owww that is very exciting! I am happy for you and want to wish you all the luck and "patience" hehehe!
I have A sun conure as you might know, He is now 1 year and one month old.
I've had Budgies, lovebirds but my dream bird was a sun and it is a fantastic bird.
Suns are considered the most cuddly and amazing birds.
They get attatched to you in a certain way that amazes you! But be careful I have to say this, When I got my sunny he was 10 weeks old "a real baby" and he grew up only with me and my husband and today he is driving me crazy he seesother people and he puffs up trying to show that he can bite " and he can really bite" he flew to attack my brother few days ago, try to have many different people around him as he still a baby so he can get less protective, cause he will choose you as he mate and will be very nasty with other people that aprochs you cause he loves you and wants you for himself!
But as I said they are amazing, love to play pick a boo, when we hide under the bed sheet he will keep looking for you and making cute noises!
Ohh and when they are around they are cute and lovely and less noisy but if you live the roon they turn to be so loud so make sure you ignore him, when he starts to act like that around 6 or 7 months old, if you let him scream and than you come back for him he will understand that everytime he screams you will return for him, and he will scream alllll day wile you're working or away from him! Also when he bites you grab his beack " carefuly" and say no bite!
You can find info here

Please send us pictures! I am very excited for you!

Congrats! You're lucky ^^. I've been looking to buy a sun conure for some time but can't seem to find many people selling them.

Great advice, thank you so much. The breeder has a lot of conures, and I know I'm getting a "weaned baby" so I'm not too certain how old he'll be, but I'll be sure to have lots of people come visit him

Congratulations on your soon to be arriving baby sun conure!

I'll be looking forward to hearing all about him and seeing pictures once he's all settled in.

Aaaww, I am so happy for you, and so jealous, lol. I want a green cheek conure so bad, but no space for another bird right now.
Anyway, can't wait to see your new baby, good luck and keep us posted.
