Talking I'm sooo excited!!!

Yay!
Currently I have 2 budgies. I had 2 more in the past but they flew away because of my siblings...anyway, this saturday I get to buy 2 more! I cant wait! Anyone got any colour suggestions?
I'm really hoping the budgies I buy are hand tamed...I shall ask the shop owner.

Do you have a spare cage so you can quarantine?

Colours.....that's up to you Do you have a breeder close to you? Check out the Trading Post to find one in your area. I'm so over pet shops! I saw a gorgeous blue spangle and I was ready to buy him but I took a good look at the other budgies in the cage and I walked out One had poo stuck to his vent and there were undigested seeds in the poo! I don't know much, but I know that's not a good sign. If I do get more budgies (and I don't think I will any time soon) I'd get them from a breeder They're cheaper and usually healthier too. That has been my experience anyway.

All the best Nicole! I hope you find your 2 new budgies And keep your siblings away from them lol

Talking outragous!

colour wise i would go fluro! But most pet shops that i have been to don't have much colours! if your tossing up between two check out the tb gallery and find the colour! if it suits your liking go on a hunt for that colour! Thats what i did anyway.

I'd look for two that already seem bonded together. That way you know for sure those two will get along, just in case there are personality conflicts with the existing two.

We had two that were purchased together but they could not stand one another. I had no idea at the time that budgies could decide they just didn't like one another. Who knew?

And Kareema has a great point. You might want to look closely for signs of illness, such as as mites, deformed nails, look at the poo, etc.

And keep your siblings away from them!

Happy hunting! It's always fun to get new birds!

I would say go for the healthiest looking ones Laura's suggestion of two that are already bonded is also important.

And of course, don't forget to quarantine!! 30 days minimum in a separate cage in a separate room from the two that you've already got. That should give you some time to bond with them before they meet the rest of your flock

I am probably going to get them from one of those huge market sales, where you walk around outside and people have set up stalls and stuff. That's probably the closest place I can get them from.
Thanks for your advice! And I do have a seperate cage. I've got everything prepared, now I just have to wait for about 4 more days

I've decided I'll probably get a yellow female, not sure about the males colour though. But all that could change, depending on which budgies seem to get along more.
