I thought I would share an adorable moment with my two birds. These birds are new(ish) to me, and I think they're charming! The young yellow male "American" budgie is fussing over the big blue "English" budgie girl. (Hee hee, maybe he can sweet talk her into having a less grumpy demeanor towards me! Here's hoping.)
was unable too view your birds, but could you tell me what is the difference between an American budgie and an English budgie when they all originate in Austrialia? Sorry iam new to budgies only had them for about a year.
The "English" Budgie is the result of breeding budgies, in England originally, for looks. They bred them larger and with more pronounced crests, spots, etc. The "American" budgie maintains the original wild physique, 'though they still breed for a variety of color mutations. (I agree that they should call it an "Australian" budgie, but they don't as far as I can tell.)
