Smile 3 new flock members - Softness of feathers!

Morning all,

Well! Our flock has grown by 3!

We were so pleased with Mattimeo that we went back to where we had gotten him and brought home three more parakeets. They are (and I quote):

Mattias - violet. Named from the Redwall series.

Glyphie - white with grey markings - from the back and looking down on her, she looks like a falcon. Named from the Guardians of Ga'hoole series.

Cloud - White pied with black and a blue tummy

Now, here's the unique thing - Cloud' feathers are of an order of magnitude softer than all the other parakeets! The other 4 feel nice and feathery but Cloud feels like silken feathers.

All 3 new parakeets are between 2-3 months in age, and I was able to tame each in about 5 minutes.

Now my mornings are like so - get up at 4am, wake up the parakeets at 5:30am, talk to them and then take them out, one by one, for more people socialization, bring them back and let them have a ball in their cage. I have to put up a picture soon!

Enjoy,

Barbara

I love their names. Cloud sounds really beautiful, and very well named on not only colour but her softness. How sweet! I look forward to some photos!

I LOVE the names for your birds! I was addicted to the Redwall series when I was in junior high Pretty interesting that Cloud is the softest, too- guess that name fits perfectly too!

Smile pictures!

Good morning,

I've finally got some good pictures.

Here's one of me doing parakeet rehabilitation - Mattie is holding onto a chopstick that I rotate.

And here's the whole flock.

Matthias' colors are more sedate than what came thru...I do have to get pictures of Gylphies' back as well (he really does remind me of a hawk).

Enjoy,

Barbara

Super pictures! I love both of them! Mattimeo sure looks cozy next to you while you work with him on his rehab! What a sweety pie!

Congratulations on your new additions But be careful, new birdies are addictive, and much like Lays potato chips, very hard to stop at one, LOL. I gotta admit tho, I can't resist looking everytime I even drive by my favorite pet shop
