young cockatiel flew into my backyard. I did not want it to
die so I took it in bought it a cage and food until I could either
find it's owner or a new home for it. I have not been successful
in finding the owner so I need to find a home for it. It has a very
lovely song ,but is a bit frightened of people. It needs a good home
where someone will love it and take the time to socialize it. It is a
small bird, white with gray on it's wings with no rosy colored cheeks.

I just wanted to let you know that the bird that I posted the
notice for will be cared for by my friend for a undetermined
period of time allowing time for an owner to see the ad and
hopefully claim him. After a few months she will decide whether
to have your organization take over fostering him or to find him
a home on her own. We both see the best scenario as having
the bird reunited with it's owner. I hope your website will make
that possible. I am getting calls, so people do check your site.

Found, tame Cockatiel in our yard June 11, the day after a wind storm.
It was eating at our bird feeders. It was very tired and took an
immediate nap upon being placed in our conservatory.

Hi. Oh boy. I just gave the bird...body...back to its owner. I got a call
this evening from someone who'd seen the signs I'd posted around my
neighborhood, that her aunt's parrot had gotten out of the house just yesterday early
afternoon...they live three houses from me....as soon as she saw the body (I'd
put it in a shoebox til tomorrow when I could bury it in the backyard) she
started sobbing...she's had the bird for 15 years...and it was on medication
for heart problems.
It was a Quaker/Monk parrot...leg band BF 936 (they had correctly ID'd the
number over the phone before coming down here). So, a sad ending...but at
least she can have some closure and not always have to worry about the bird.
Here's the picture I took yesterday when I first brought it inside, to help
get it ID'd...

returned to it's owner. It got loose from a house less then one mile from our
house. The owner responded to the ad on craigslist. She indicated specific

Thanks for the email. I'm sad to say the parakeet we had found on our
terrace passed away suddenly today
We had found a new home for her and have
no idea what happened. We believe we did all the right things to care for
her, and wonder if she had been sick from her outdoor time, or simply something
else.
Anyway, I've removed the posts from Craigslist. Not sure how you handle
this kind of situation on your site, but thought I should let you know.

Lost Cockatiel In Upstate NY
Our 7 month old baby boy cockatiel named Mikko flew out of our home on
thursday June 12,2008 at approximately 11 am. He is a yellow cinnamon
pearl cockatiel, very bright yellow with bright orange cheeks. He
answers to Mikko Bikko and will squack when he hears a fox whistle. He
was last seen on Pine Street where he lives.

Yesterday my parakeet flew away in the NW, Centennial Hills
area, near Farm and Ft Apache. He is tame and friendly and
will probably fly to people for help. He will typically land on your
shoulder and will jump onto your finger if you touch his belly. He
is friendly with other pets and will not avoid predators. REWARD

Lost in Blackfen, Sidcup. Kent
Grey Cockatiel lost on Monday 9th June at 7:50pm.
Orange cheeks, yellow plumage/crest with a tinge of orange. On right
foot the back toe has no claw.
Answers to the name 'Smokey'.
does a lot of wolf whistles and says hes a pretty boy.

Lost Cockatiel
Our 18 month old cockatiel is bright yellow and was last seen at the
Eagle Ridge golf community in Gilroy CA. His name is Moonlight but he
responds if you whistle the first few notes of the Andy Griffith show.
Our family misses him, especially is cage mate Sunshine. If you see

Lost Cockatiel in Brandon, FL
"Elvis" flew away about 11AM on Sunday, June/15/08 in the area of Bryan
Circle & Bryan Rd. in Brandon, Fl. He is gray & white, no other
coloring. He is very tame, says "Pretty bird" and crows like a rooster.

I lost a pair of green Quakers in Chrisman, Il which is fairly close to the IL /IN border. Date lost Mar-26-08. Don't know if they are still together. Just purchased them from a lady and loading them into the car when the pet taxi door swung open and away they flew. Don't know for sure if they were banded or not. If you have recovered a green Quaker or two at your bird feeder or in your yard, please contact me, I'd love to have them back. I am still hoping to find the 2 green Quaker Parrots I lost In Chrisman Il on March 26. I had just purchased them and was loading them into the car when the pet taxi door came open and off they flew. I don't remember if they had leg bands or not...I was so upset. I know these birds can fly a good distance, so I have been checking found ads in both Illinois and Indiana.Chrisman is not that far from the state line. They were fairly young birds so whether they stayed together or not is questionable. Please if you have found a green Quaker Parrot in either state please contact me as I would love to recover one and hopefully both.
