The lorikeets just don't seem to like the banana itself but the Cereal I use has dehydrated banana ground up to a powder and mixed in with it, and they love it. I use the Heinz brand of Rice Cereals in my mix. I get it from the manufacturer in 10kg bags as I make a lot of Lorikeet mix which I also sell.
Kate C... you think you could post some pics of your lorikeets :O?
as Kate C ssaid.. bananas are healthy... so if your budgie is eating it its a good thing
.. if your worried about your bird.. i would just suggest you give it to them fresh.. rather than over ripe.. it might get to sweet when over ripe but i believe buidgies can be sweet beaks.. so the extra suger might just get them hooked more.. iv never tryd bananas with my budgies.. i think i will..
