Default Where can I pet my budgie?

I have no idea where budgies like to be pet, but I'm curious cause I'm trying to bond with mine and I thought scratching it would help! Is scratching her tummy good?

In my experience petting is not an option and my keets are tame and lovable. I have tried the belly, under the chin, the wings or side and even used my nose to try to rub their bellies. All of this action is met with reactions ranging from flying away to right out beak attacks.

This kind of interaction seems to go against their instincts and hasn't worked for me. I have one that likes to cuddle under my chin and that all I get.

I know some people can scratch and pet their birds. I would love to go to belly scratching school if that was an option

It depends on the budgie.
But i know most budgies don't like being touched on their back/wings.

My budgies like cheek scratching, head stroking and a bit of belly rubbing

My Lola loves her belly scritched and her tail feathers stroked. I also can stroke her head. Maybe she's just funny?

I tried this and she kinda took her beak and tapped my finger I think she wants me to stop lol...So I just started saying, "I love you" "Whatcha Doin'?" in the highest pitch voice I could get and she started chirping

Like Aly said, it depends on the budgie. Some really like their heads scratched while others don't want you going anywhere near them. Mine will come to my hand and sit on my shoulder but as soon as I put a finger toward their head off the go. There's really only one way to find out right?
