Hi Lyn,
In 1990s I only know about both yellow-faced type 1st and yellow-faced type 2nd, but I know nothing about Golden-faced budgies until this year.
I had a bright-coloured female double factor Golden-faced ??? skyblue opaline budgie, whose I was puzzled by her bright coloured plumage and rich canary yellow face.
This left me with puzzlement, until I read books about budgies, when I realized the bird may been a golden-faced form.

Golden-faced budgie were poorly known and need studying/datas as I do not know anything about golden-faced budgies and I do not know how to tell a golden-faced forms from a yellow-faced type 2nd forms.
Today I have only one golden-faced ??? cobait normal male budgie in his first adult plumage, his plumage were bright coloured.

I did not bred yellow-faced violet budgies until this year.

I still have to researching the yellow-faced type 1st & 2nd and violet forms, as they are tricky birds to name correctly.
