I'm sorry to hear about your accident and hope you will feel better soon after the nerve-racking experience.
It's good that your little rescue budgies are giving you comfort, I can certainly relate to that. My birdies also help me a lot in calming myself down and keeping my overworking heart somewhat under control, I can tell you they are better than any heart medication and on the plus side don't leave me sleepy.
They are able to brighten even the darkest of days, that's for sure!
