Default Head for the stars, Comet...

I'm sad to announce the sudden passing of Comet, aged just two years.

He arrived unwanted and young and I ' took him under my wing ' where he settled fast into flock life.
He was quick to pair up with Jocey and he fathered The Flock's first ever chicks.

He continued to maintain a strong bond with the two chicks who I kept, his son Bondi, and his daughter Nava.

He was well loved within the rest of The Flock and was friendly and kind to everyone.

His death came as a total shock and he is my first bird to pass away. E
ven sadder as he was in a breeding cage at the time.
Citrus was yet to lay any eggs and I hadn't witnessed any mating. If she does proceed to lay fertile eggs I think any chicks would be a fitting tribute to such a pretty young bird.

I intend to breed from both his children from last year to attempt to keep his genes flying throughout my flock, and maybe one day I'll get a chick to resemble his beauty.

Fly High, Comet.
