Default Starting my own budgie aviary!

Hi all My grandad and I are building an aviary, and I shall be putting budgies in. I just need some advice off the budgie pro's first. I live in the UK, so the weather gets a really cold. The budgies will have appropriate nesting boxes with material to keep them warm. It will also be in a corner, away from wind and we are covering half of the flight roof for shelter. Is this okay? They will have all the obvious things in there; seed, water, fruits, cuttlebone etc, but is there anything else that is mandatory for aviary budgies? Also, can I use safe tree branches in the aviary, if so how to I disinfect them? Many thanks
