They have a crumble that I'm just starting to get my birds to eat.
But you're right! No pellets in the outback. (Though it'd be pretty funny if there was.
) But wild budgies eat a heap of different stuff: like grasses, leaves, seeds, and lots of different shoots. They even sometimes *ick* eat the insects they find while foraging.
I really think there's wisdom in offering a varied diet -- like the diet that Lindsey recommends -- to our budgies, even if some vets are a little slow to believe that pellets have any place in it.
