Smile small

This is great info, Lyn, We all have to remember that pellets are processed grains with extra vitamins, minerals, nutrients compressed into various shapes.or served as small grains mixed with breeders choice of fresh foods and egg/food, sprouts and added nutrients or for treats can be baked in birdy bread.
Products like game bird starter are made for chickens and turkeys raised on farms. The important nutrients are present but the expensive pellets are replaced by the bulk granules. People with only a few birds can choose to use pellets or other supplements to provide a balanced diet. There are any number of recipes that are just fine. The point of all of this is keeping our birds healthy and free of vitamin and mineral deficient diets that weaken the immune system and allow harmful organisms to successfully take hold, making birds miserable and in danger of death. No one wishes this for our little ones. So each of us should study -research continually always looking for improvements that can help us care for our birds. Blessings, Jo Ann
