Default Scary times last night

Hey everybirdie! Well, last night was a scary one for Peatri, and me and daddy. We let the birds out for their nightly fly, and everyone was doing great, until Peatri crashed....behind the dresser with our giant old tv on it. We have one of those old tv's that has the huge back and feels like it weighs a thousand pounds. Couple that with a dresser that weighs at least twice as much as the tv, plus all the knick knacks.

Anyway, Peatri was flying really well, and then all of a sudden he went behind the tv and disappeared. We hurried over to get him off the back of the tv, but he wasn't there. Then mommy freaked out because he was behind the dresser. And our dresser has a gap at the bottom both in front and on the back that Peatri could have easily slipped underneath. Luckily that didn't happen, but he wasn't having any part of being rescued. I almost had him with my hand in as far as it would go, but then he flutter back further. Then I tried a perch, and he freaked out even more. To make things worse, our old Perfect Polly toy was hanging on right above him, tail pointed down, Lonny quickly flung that out of the way with the long perch, and it didn't come anywhere near him, yay! But millet wasn't working, and neither was the flashlight. At one point Holly got stuck there too, but she wasn't a great flyer in the first place, and we coaxed her out with the light.

Finally we though to try to coax him out by shimmying him out with the perch behind him. He fluttered out and right into mommy's hands! Needless to say I was elated that I finally had my boy back!

Other than being a little dusty, Peatri was no worse for wear, so he is completely fine, and back to normal. But this was a very scary event for all involved. Including the rest of our flock, as they watched me and Lonny tossing things onto the bed and Lonny heaving that huge tv onto the bed by himself so that I could keep my eyes on Peatri!

I just thought I would share that from last night. Panic and relief never came so close together! I'm just so happy that Peatri came out unscathed!
