You also need to remember that Coconut is a bird and just because you and your son want to interact with her at particular times, that doesn't mean she wants to interact with you right then.

When you are dealing with a budgie, you must respect its boundaries and move only at its pace. Some days Coconut may be more willing to interact than others and it is important to adjust accordingly.

Additionally, at three months old, Coconut is probably now going through puberty.
The hormonal changes in her body are going to affect her behavior.
