Oscar came to my home July 6, 2006. He stayed for four short years, but in that time he showed me just how smart a budgie could be. He also left me with five beautiful babies, including one who is the spitting image of him.
He was a very good father, looked after his mate Budgie with great diligence. When I had separated him from Budgie to stop more breeding, he let me know when it was time to return to feed her. He would also let me know if he needed something to help with his care of his mate and chicks. He was very tame during that time.
He was always so good about returning to his cage when required.
He will be sorely missed.
