I love the finished piece.
I'll message you about the other stuff, I don't want to derail your thread.
Look forward to seeing the nativity scene.
Thank you, I appreciate hearing that from an artist such as yourself!

Thank you for taking the time to look through it
Okay, so I don't think I'm going to have time to finish the Nativity scene. I wanted to get it done by tonight since I need to make the cards tomorrow if I'm going to have them in time to ship out. I may be able to delay it a day, but I work tomorrow so don't know if I'll find the time to get the painting done! Not to mention, I'm absolutely exhausted (Finals this week plus family coming in as well as my rush to get all these paintings done!
I did get my general idea sketched out. I'm very pleased with Joseph, overall pretty pleased with Mary- want to fix a few shadows and proportions to get the angle right. I definitely need baby Jesus' face, but for now here's the sketch! We'll see if I do end up getting this painted tomorrow; it's taking a lot longer than I thought to do this. Originally I was just planning on doing silhouettes, but didn't turn out that way
If I don't finish this painting tomorrow I'll just save the sketch and take it out to work on next Christmas! I just feel like if I rush myself it's not going to turn out as good as it may have- I always want to produce art to the best of my ability, same with everything else.
Changing from horizontal to vertical and going to have the Star of Bethlehem shining down on Jesus.
One of my favorite parts of the sketch was drawing the little baby feet and the itty bitty toes
Very happy with Joseph's face! Except I need to fix his mouth a little haha.
