This one is called 'Parakeet' by Kees van Dongen, painted in 1910 in oils. The room was very crowded and I spotted it, exclaiming 'There's a budgie!!' as my husband said "What?! Where?". He then shook his head at me, haha.
This is a stamped glass vase by Lalique, a very prolific and iconic jewellry maker in the art nouveau period. This vase was made sometime between 1920s-1940s. The above picture is a 'true light' photo.
Wow, that was quite a surprise and these two fine pieces of art are a perfect example of how much loved and cherished budgies have always been.
