Default Lacey's Art (ongoing thread)

Id like to share some of my latest projects i completed!! I was originally into painting and drawing but recently I have come to love the art of etching glass!! I also stumbled across something called alcohol ink which I am starting to incorporate into my work. I hope you enjoy!

one of my upcoming etchings will be of my and my Pepperoni, my favorite pic of us. I have already converted and edited it into what the etching will look like!!

i will post a picture in the future once this etching is complete!!

These look so impressive. I'd be interested in how the process works. It's not something I'd want to do myself as I have no room for a new art hobby, but I am always interested in how these things work.

Very nicely done. I have worked with alcohol ink it's a very interesting product, I have tried it on several surfaces.

I am just using a dremel and diamond point bits, no chemicals or sand blasting

thank you!!! today I used my new Cricut machine which i bought to help cut stencils for my glass etching (faster than an exacto knife) but it has so many possibilities in itself .. i made my first iron on and updated a plain old hoodie.. i think you guys will like it

The nurse practitioner i work with lost her daughter and after seeing my art she asked that i etch a photo she could give her husband for Christmas last year. at first i did not want to do it, i was not confident at all that it would turn out. She told me it would be great and it turned out much better than i could have ever imagined. The day I took it to work for her I waited until the end of the shift as it was the 1 year anniversary of her death. As soon as she saw it she started to cry and hugged me for a very long time, it was very emotional and i turned around and saw all of my other coworkers standing there with tears as well.

bottom left is the photo she gave me, next to it was the photo etched on glass. I put it in a shadow box with fairy lights and it turned out so beautiful

after doing this I was hired for 2 more memorial shadow boxes. I feel great being able to give these families something to hold on to that is one of a kind and special!!!
