Default Suddenly Aggressive Budgie

Hi everyone.
My 5 month old little girl Peewee has suddenly gotten very aggressive. She's just finished her juvenile moult and as expected, she was quite grumpy during the moult, but it's been finished for a couple of weeks and I'm noticing significantly increased aggressiveness in her. Usually when she's sitting on my shoulder and i turn my face towards her she gently nibbles on my lips and chatters. However recently when I do that she just bites whatever she can reach and she bites extremely hard. she shies away from my hand when i want to pet her through the cage and she just seems almost like i've never tamed her. I don't know what I'm doing wrong or how to improve her behaviour. I feel like shes beginning to hate me

I don't think she hates you. Maybe she is coming into breeding condition. That might cause the grumpiness.

Has her cere changed coloring? Also when there is a sudden change in behavior it could be something medical so a vet exam may be in order.

Her cere has gone brown and is slightly flaky, which I know is breeding condition if I'm not wrong? Nothing else seems to be wrong with her, she doesn't act or look sick...

Your little girl has several factors coming into play right now.
1. She just finished her first molt so she's at the "independent" stage
2. She's coming into condition which often results in moodiness and aggressive behavior
3. She's probably getting a reaction from you when she bites so she's exerting her "dominance" because your reactions unintentionally reinforce her behavior.

Take a look at this thread which you may find helpful:

Thanks everyone!
She's definitely calmed down in the last couple of days and I do realise that I may have been to enthusiastic when handling her. But things seem to be going in the right direction
