Hi, I have two budgies, Icy and Kiwi. They are both around a year old (or a little younger). Icy is a male and Kiwi is a female, but the problem is when I try to cover them. My female budgie, Kiwi gets aggressive towards... Well, just about everything including Icy. I've heard that sometimes this can happen because one of the budgies moved in to the cage at a different time than the other, but I bought my budgies at the same time, from the same place and they were even in the same cage at the pet store. However during the day, Kiwi is a happy little ball of fluff. I don't know why she gets so angry in the night. Icy is terrified of her in the night and I hope that someone knows why she does this. (She's done this pretty much since we bought her).
I hope my little girl stops doing this. I love Icy and Kiwi so much <3
Thanks for reading
From your description this sounds like the typical bedtime bickering.
Budgies can and will bicker the moment we cover them for the night as they want to be on a chosen place and specific perch/swing to sleep for the night.
These bickerings can be minimized or even completely put to a stop by simply adding two of the preferred perches or swings high up in the cage and near the favourite spot they like to spend the night in.
RIP sweet Tito (Summer 2008 - January 17th 2013).
You are missed and never will be forgotten.
