Default Help save my walls!

Now that my birds have all new cages, and a room to themselves, there's only one issue I have left. My walls! You probably all know what I'm talking about. They get covered in poop, and flung sprouts (Flax seeds are the worst!).

Once a week I pull all the cages out from the walls to vacuum underneath the cages and wipe down the walls. However, there are poops that are incredibly hard to wipe off the wall, and I'm afraid that over a long period of time, the walls/paint will be damaged from all the cleaning and poop.

I'm looking for suggestions on how to save my walls, without it being too tacky or ugly.

Hi Michelle - I don't know if this product is available where you live, but I have found that 'poop-off' bird poop wipes do exactly what it says on the tub which is to quickly and easily clean up bird poop and also the little foody blobs that Buddy leaves on favourite toys, cage bars etc I've just looked at the tub and there's a website on there poop-off.com so maybe have a look at that? Might be expensive for cleaning up after your flock though....I have only the one budgie to clean up after!

Clear contact paper on the wall. Just on the wall behind the cage. It's not noticeable.
It cleans up easy and easy to remove.

Hi, I had the same problem my walls were always covered in poop and sprouts, what I did was peg white kitchen paper sheets to the back of the cages, it stopped my walls getting messy, I just change the paper very day when I clean cages . As for floors I haven't worked out what I can do except vacuum constantly .

Mount a simple curtain rod on the wall behind the cage(s) as wide as the space your cage(s) take up and hang a sheet or shower curtain on it, then you can easily take it off and wash it.

I love this idea! I think this will work best, since I have a large area to cover.

I agree with Cody's suggestion!

I know Therm uses a shower curtain behind her cages with great success.

I did it! I bought a cheap curtain rod and found curtains at Vallue Village. The whole set up cost me less than $10
