Poor George, he really is scared, isn't he?

Mallorn has one of those things. She hates the colour red for any fruit I try to give her. I'm not sure why, but it freaks her out, so I make sure to never, ever try and give her any red fruits. This isn't even something she "gets used to", like she does with a strange looking new toy she might not be familiar with, she's innately afraid of red fruits.

Hopefully George will be just fine after he doesn't have to see the scary nail polish anymore

Red in nature is a sign of danger to animals. It is very instinctive for them to be afraid of things that are red. Think poisonous snakes or reptiles. Even though they are our pets they still have natural instincts that dictate fears and other strong feelings (even if it seems unjustified to us).

StarlingWings, Cloud is also afraid of red fruits. I tried to offer him strawberries and he was terrified, so i don't offer him red fruits anymore.

Maybe it is the color that he does not like, I had a bird for 12 years that would not come near me if I had anything on that was red or white or had any bold design in it, so I just made sure I was not wearing anything of the sort when around her.

I agree, definitely!

For Mally, it's just fruits/veggies that are red for some reason. No red bell pepper, no strawberries, etc. However, she loves all her toys even though they have red on them and her favourite colour of pellets is red

Sometimes we may never know why our little ones react that way to things, I suppose the best we can do is to help them be as comfortable as possible in their home
