Default My budgie is so chatty... he falls asleep while chirping....

I can never get a video of this... b/c he stops when I get too close... but my budgie (Biz).... known to chirp all day long... is so committed to chirping, he falls asleep while chatting away.

He will turn his head backwards into his wings and he continues to chirp as he falls asleep. It's one of may favorite things.

Does your budgie do this....?

Yes, budgies (and even other species of pet birds) will often chirp themselves to sleep while having their beaks tucked into their backs.
It's like they sing a sweet lullaby to help them fall asleep.
My budgies will do this on occasion, but I have noticed my lovebirds do this more often.

This is just one of the many charms of budgie ownership.

It's such a cute bird trait! Tommy is the most vocal of all my birds and he does that as well. He's also the first one chirping in the morning!

Definitely one of my favorite attributes. You're right... it's kind of like they sing themselves to sleep. I'll have to check out photos & threads of your lovebirds. I'm just starting to learn more about those. I've always liked them.

So funny. The variance in personality is also another one of my favorite budgie traits.

Skipper, who was my "talker" before the flock expanded from three budgies to nine, used to actually talk when he napped, interspersed with little chirps. It would be so funny to sit and watch him sleeping as he was going on about Skipooter being a cute baby bird and a good boy!

Barnes does this--Noble does a bit as well, but Barnes does it more. And yes, it is practically cuteness overload. They are generally extremely chatty. One person described it as them "telling each other stories".

Don't you just love it?! It is just the cutest! Ice especially does this. He makes the little warbling tweets while he rocks back and forth on one leg!

Oh my, yes! Let's just say Hermes is named after the god of messengers for a reason! He squawked the entire 45 minute drive home when I first got him and chirps and mimics his own little noises. I love him to bits and I think he definitely lives up to his name. He most definitely chirps himself to sleep/during sleep/ awaking from sleep/ life in general lol.

It really is cuteness overload. It gets me every time. Way too cute.

Haha... yeah... it looks like they might fall over but never do. ... the chirps do get softer and more mumbly as Biz falls asleep.

He sounds really cute. (And like he never stops letting you know what's on his mind. )
