Anna,

The two budgies need to be separated immediately and each put in their own cage.

If you do not follow this advice, it is likely that Evica will seriously injure or possibly kill Dobrica.
This is NOT a situation where you can "wait and see" what happens.

Evica is a budgie that needs to be housed separately from any other birds from now on. She should never be bred and you need to take this situation seriously.

Please separate her from Dobrica immediately for his safety, health and well-being.

Hi Anna,

I'm very sorry your Evica has been aggressive to Dobrica. Unfortunately, this is something that we must prepared because not all budgies will get along well and most likely the fact that Evica has just matured and got into breeding condition for the first time has made the aggression come more to surface.
Due to Evica's more violent temperament, she needs to be housed alone on a separate cage and this arrangement should be permanent.
Bad fighting like the one you have described can escalate even further and Dobrica is at risk of losing his life if he shares a cage with Evica.
They should be separated permanently.

Good advice given to you. I agree this change to the housing needs to be made immediately for Dobrica's safety and wellbeing. I hope we will hear good news once Evica and Dobrica are separated.

Anna,

I agree with the comments above. I'm glad you'll be separating Dobrica and Evica now!

I hope that Dobrica is able to regain his confidence after being hurt by Evica.

You can work with both of them separately to help them get along with you However, they can not ever be housed together again or Evica will hurt Dobrica badly.

Best wishes!

The diet aspect has been addressed before and both of your budgies should be on a varied and balanced diet.
https://talkbudgies.com/articles-diet...ur-budgie.html
https://talkbudgies.com/articles-diet...-seed-mix.html

No changes on the diet need to be made just because Evica's cere is dark brown in colour and she is in breeding condition.
What is more important is to not allow her access to any items that she can use as a nest, so be sure to follow the recommendations on this link: https://talkbudgies.com/budgie-breedi...want-eggs.html

Once both Dobrica and Evica adjust to being in separate cages, they will soon go back to their normal routines.
To help them adjust to this change and reduce their stress levels, you can cover the cages on three sides and having some background music on for them.

Good job . They will come to adjust to their new arrangement. Just as when we move house, it is all new to us for a little while, then we get used to it. So will your budgies .
