I bought a out-of-cage playground for my budgie, but she seems to be reluctant to play on it. She'll climb around, occasionally, but she's very fixated on being close to me when she's out of her cage. I'm wondering if there's a reason she might not like the gym, or if I should keep giving her time to get used to it.
I took your post out of the Holiday Celebration thread and made it into a thread of its own.

It takes budgies time to get used to new things.
Show her the fun things on the playground.
Make excited noises as you play with them.
Coax her to the area with a special treat.
Use time and patience in everything you do with your budgie and enjoy the journey!
You were all right, time was all she needed. She loves her playground now, and spends hours watching TV next to me. I'm glad she's getting used to it now. Because she can't fly, this is a good way for her to get some out-of-cage fun time, without feeling overwhelmed.
