Default Mycroft making clicking sounds

Hi all,

We have had Mycroft a week now and today he has started to make a clicking noise with his beak - it sounds like 2 pebbles being tapped together.

He is is no distress & has been his usual happy self today but I wondered if anyone out there can let me know why he might be doing this. There is nothing wrong with his beak and he is in perfect health.

Thanks a lot.

Could Mycroft by any chance be beak grinding?
A video of him doing the clicking sound would be helpful. Or you could go to Youtube, type "beak grinding budgie" and see if that was what Mycroft was doing.

It certainly sounds like beak grinding to me, which is a good thing! Birds will grind their beaks when they are happy, content, and comfortable, all good signs

That explains a lot...my Ernie has been doing that, too. I was wondering about that!

My Cthulhu makes the pebble noise too. Out of all the sounds he makes I think that is my absolute favourite.

If I got it correct, budgies do that before they are falling asleep. My Cloud always does it right before he is about to fall asleep and it lasts for sometime until he finally sleeps at night. He does not do it when he is taking naps during the day though, mostly getting ready for night time sleep.

Maybe it varies from budgie to budgie...Ernie does simply whenever he's content or happy, although he does it before falling asleep, too.
