Default Budgie Basically Staying in One Place in His Cage

Biz has one particular perch that he loves to hang out on. This is his first favorite, he has a second favorite, about (3) that are only used for utilitarian purposes (stepping stones to get to his food and water, or to the door of the cage)... and (2) that he basically ignores entirely.

He's not on this one perch 100% of the day... but much of it... to the degree that I'm noticing it.

At night he plays with his many swings, climbing over them all, and then he finally retires to the sleep swing.

I know I can rearrange his cage, and I'm planning on moving a few things around this week, but he really seems to like this latest set-up so I don't think I'm going to do a massive rearrangement for awhile. (There was a phase where I changed it a lot because I didn't personally like it, and also to keep him stimulated.)

Is this unhealthy in any way that he seems really attached to this one spot...?

I think it's perfectly natural for birds to find a spot they like and feel comfortable there.
It's his home so, just like we all do, he will have a favourite spot where he likes to be.

Thanks Therm. I won't worry about it too much then. He seems really comfortable in that spot. He moves around enough and is active enough (at times very active) that I won't worry. that he's depressed or something like that. Thx...

Nothing unhealthy or unnatural about it at all.

It's like a person having a favorite chair.

Haha.... I'll leave it untouched.

***Update: I left his favorite perch as-is, but put a new perch in that he seems to really like. It's so rewarding when you buy something new that your budgie likes. I've determined he likes perches that turn up a bit on the end. Something about that kind of upward slope seems to make him happy.
