Default Wow- such different personalities between my old budgie and new one!

So Tundra is maybe 5 months old. We've had him for a month.

Tiki we've had for 2 years and a bit.

Tiki from day one has always been so calm. Never have I ever seen him hang upside down or shred anything. He is always calm. Doesn't bounce around his cage like a madman. He is just an easy going little guy.

Tundra is a force of nature. He brunches around his cage, swings upside down, he shreds EVERYTHING in his cage, and calls louder than Tiki ever did. He is constantly curious and has even started trying to imitate sounds a bit. He is very sharp.

Just wanted to share. I find the difference in their little personalities amusing

Ernie and his partner Bert (now deceased) were very much different in personalities, also. Bert was adventurous, outgoing, and a little bit bossy. Ernie was quiet, shy, and often submissive to Bert.

Now Ernie is much louder and demanding than he used to be... I'm still trying to figure out why

I'm glad you are enjoying your little friends so much!
It really is amazing to get to know them, watch them grow and see their different personality traits.
While all are wonderful in their special own way, I'm more biased towards the more clownish, energetic and enthusiastic budgies as they are quite entertaining and never fail to make me laugh! The more clownish, the better!

Yes. I'm excited to see how Tundra's personality shapes up.

Tiki has never entertained us in the cage, but when he's out he is so silly and always makes us laugh with his dancing, how he plays with my daughters toys, and how he speaks to us. He's adorable.

Tundra really reminds me of our old green cheek conure who was a handful! . He's a little mischief maker I can tell.

Btw Aluz I've been meaning to say I love some of the colors of your parakeets. The yellow with white tipped wings is really stunning. I like that yellow on also with a little black on him. Really pretty.

Very sweet- Tundra is revealing more of his personality. One thing he loves that Tiki never liked is head scratches. He literally bends his little head down to ask for more head rubs. So adorable.

Tiki is very gentle with him and I'm noticing Tundra is more the alpha male!

While training Tundra with step up the other day Tiki actually said "step up!" To Tundra lol. So Tiki is taking an interest in training him as well, helping him follow my commands whether it's stepping up or coming when I call him.

Tundra is scared of nothing. No matter what toy my child shows him he is game. But there is one thing he is terrified of: shadows!

Tiki loves to dance around him shouting "Tiki good boy!"

Watching Tundra come into his own, and watching their dynamic together is so cute and highly entertaining. They are shaping up to be great little buddies.

Our newest yellow girl, Nova, is still a little shy and not hand tame yet as we only got her last week, but I'm excited to see her personality come forth in the coming weeks.

Just wanted to share!

It is always fascinating to see each budgies' individual personality develop.
I have nine budgies and each one of them is unique as are all three of my lovebirds.

My girlfriend (not a "bird person") has remarked several times that she never realized that birds each have their own personalities until she started observing my flock.

Enjoy the journey as Tundra, Tiki and Nova continue to amaze you!

It is funny to watch birds develop their own little personalities.

Sage, Lucy, Jenny and Sadie are all very calm females who like their own space. Sometimes Jenny and Lucy will share a perch together. Josie is a little more nervous than the others.

Jay is a huge flirt. He's just in love with all the girls. Star is his girl at the moment. Star likes to be fussed over.

Skye is curious and friendly. He's social and likes to be with other budgie friends.

Tommy is a chatterbox and is always the first to chatter in the morning and the last to stop at night! He's best buds with Jimmy and Stan is best buds with Henry.

One of my favorite things about budgies is definitely their huge personalities and how they shine through in everything they do. They have so much personality and intelligence compressed in one little, lovable, beautiful creature

Hermes is the more outgoing and tame of my 2. He's loud and active (named him after the greek god of messengers for a a reason). I had hoped to teach him to talk but he never picked it up. He does, however, mimic some noises (not all sure what but he was making a dove call the other day) and kind of gurgles. You always know his opinion as he is very vocal about everything

Izzy is more reserved. She is a goof sometimes and those moments are that much more precious because they're more rare. She is named after some strong, independent female lead characters in my books. She lives up to her namesakes (as does Hermes). She bosses Herm around a bit but nothing aggressive.

Another previous bird of mine, Oscar, was very mild-mannered and quiet. He was too shy even to bite very hard, he would only nibble. Ernie would always boss him around.
