Default Bubbles took a bath!

Oh, you guys! Bubbles has recently been taking baths in wheat grass, but this morning he was tweeting for me while I was in the kitchen putting dishes in the dishwasher. I went and got him, and walked back to turn off the running water. He tweeted and poofed, and started leaning towards the water. I turned the water to a cool, small stream, and placed my cupped hands under it (in a clean, empty sink). He ran to the stream and began flapping and rolling under the water, using my hands as a surface to rub his face and wings. He was singing the whole time! It felt so neat to feel those damp feathers on my fingers, and to watch him have so much fun up close. When he was done, he ran up to my shoulder and floofed out to dry. I love these moments! I feel so blessed and lucky to be able to say that I've held a moment like this in my hands! I had to share- I knew you would understand

How sweet! Your Bubbles really wanted to take a bath and it's wonderful that you were included in this activity!

Aww.... that's so cute! How long have you had Bubbles?

It took Biz time to decide he wanted baths (would never take a bath in greens) ... eventually he jumped into a faucet stream & will talk a bath in my hands and the sink. What's funny is he likes it, and it's his idea, but it still seems to make him nervous. He likes it, but then he gets scared and stops.

Perhaps one day he'll have unlimited fun with it.

Congrats though... that seems like a big accomplishment. I also notice Biz makes a tweet unique to bathing. It's a noise I don't hear otherwise.

We've had him since July, so about six months. We've misted him, and he's rolled in the grass. We've offered him the sink water, but he never wanted to go in- he'd stand and peck the stream of water, then run away. I've always loved watching my wild birds bathe. This was so much fun!

Biz sounds like he has a fun personality! It's funny that he changes his mind and stops his bath. Silly birdie- what changed? It was safe a minute go, and now it's not! It's always amazing to me how much individuality these tiny guys have. Big personality, tiny package!

I'm so glad you were able to experience Bubble's joy at bathing in the stream of water in the kitchen sink!

Hopefully, he'll decide he liked it enough to want to do it again sometime.

That's what Biz did re. pecking at the stream. For a long time he was scared of the little stream of water at the faucet. Then he got curious and started to drink from it. ( and ok, no big monster came out, he survived. ) But like Bubbles....he would just peck and go " Ok... I'm done! " Eventually with time and patience he started taking actual sink baths, but he's a bit spazzy with it as I noted. I think he's just still getting used to it.

I could never do greens in water because all he would do is eat them. ( & still does. He can't focus on bathing with greens around. ) He always liked misting though.

One thing that helped was having a mirror around. For some reason that inspires him to bathe and he acts like he's showing off for the mirror budgie.

We will continue to "practice" our bathing.

It's really interesting how some never like it, some will do it joyfully immediately at the first chance, or, like Bubbles & Biz, others have to warm up to the idea.

Congrats again that Bubbles came around to enjoy a bath. It suits his name
