Default Do budgies ever teach each other to use human words?

So our 2 year old Tiki LOVES to speak words he knows ("Tiki's a big boy" "hello" etc") to Tundra our 4 month old. Do parakeets ever learn human words from each other? I.e could Tundra learn from Tiki?? I've heard of Cockatoos doing this but I haven't read about budgies doing this. Tiki loves to talk up a storm to Tundra.

Thanks!

Yes, budgies can learn to mimic human speech listening to other budgies.

There have been reports of some people's budgies who have learned to mimic human speech listening to cagemates, videos or recordings of other budgies.

Indeed, they can! I have living proof in my current flock.
My Luigi is by far my most talented talker/mimic, he has learnt very early on all of Leonel's repertoire of learnt words and he quickly surpassed his birdie teacher as far as mimicry goes. He also started mimicking the dog's barking at a very early age.
Besides that, Luigi also learnt the whole lovebird language by listening to the flock, especially when interacting more closely with Khaleesi.

Oh most definitely. My Sweetie loves to tell my girlie "Lemon is a pretty girl" and now she's sometimes tell me "Lemon is a pretty girl!" (hilariously usually when I am tell her she is being naughty). I find it's far more likely to happen if your birds are inclined to use human words in their everyday speech as well as with humans.

Thanks for all your replies! That's so funny and sweet!

I think Tundra is trying to mimic human speech lately. Tiki loves to speak to him in human language. I'll keep you posted!
