Default Budgie Mourning Help

Sadly, Darcy, my yellow and blue budgie passed away during the night. His buddy, Bingley, his fellow companion seems to be looking for him. Is it best to find him another companion?

I'm very sorry to hear of your budgie's passing... May Darcy rest in peace.
Bingley's behaviour is perfectly normal given the very recent loss.
For now, it would be best for you to keep a close eye on him for the next couple of weeks, give Bingley some extra TLC and see how he adjusts to this new reality.
If during this time, you notice that he isn't coping well, then you can think of getting him a new buddy. If you choose to do so, be sure to follow quarantine procedures: https://talkbudgies.com/new-budgie-ar...necessary.html

So sorry to hear about Darcy! I agree with aluz- give him lots of love! No doubt Bingley misses his friend a lot. If he simply cannot do without a companion, buying another budgie is a good idea.

Mary Ann,

I'm very sorry for your loss of little Darcy.

I agree with aluz -- it's better to give Bingley some time to adjust to the loss before deciding whether to get him another little friend.

Give him lots and lots of attention and love to help him through the mourning period.

Best wishes
