Disco has a cuttlebone in his cage and I had it clipped to the side vertically and I read that the size of it could intimidate him so he won't use it, I tried turning it sideways and he still refuses to use it. I know that they naturally know when they need to use it for their beaks, but he's just been what I'm calling "wiping" his face across the wooden dowel perches in his cage.
Any tips to get him to at least try to use the cuttlebone? Or is this not a big deal and he'll eventually use it on his own? I'm just afraid that he could get a splinter or possibly hurt his beak by doing this.
