Default What's going on with my budgies?

So we've been home all day today so I've gotten to see the budgies in action for the entire day. They seem VERY active today, not sure if they're like this when I'm at work, but they've been trying out all the perches, going back and forth, squawking quite often and tweeting alot. Then I caught them "making out" or at least that's what it looked like to me. Can anyone tell me what's going on in this video?

Hi Michael.

There's nothing to be concerned about with this behaviour.
Your budgie activity sounds perfectly normal. I always find mine are extra cheerful when it's a nice sunny day as well.

In the video, the budgie closest to you is trying to preen the other bird. This is the same as when a budgie cleans it's one feathers but often a budgie friend will do another's head area for them (otherwise, they'll use a perch of toy).

I would make sure you watch them as they mature as the budgie furthest away isn't responding to wanting to be preened. It's not moving away, but you said they'd been active all day and that one *could* have been being chased around by the other budgie.
Again, it's nothing to be concerned over, but you want to ensure that one budgies isn't always bothering the other.

Thanks for the reply. They seem to be getting along well and earlier I observed both budgies preening each other so they seem both receptive to it. They also normally perch together and eat at the same time side by side. I think they've bonded pretty well by my uneducated view lol.

Didn't realize that the above video was preening, it seemed different than before

I saw the other video you posted (after watching and replying to this one) and as I said, this isn't preening, but that's what he's trying to do, as far as I can tell.
As far as I can tell, the other budgie just isn't in the mood.

Your budgie is trying to bond with its friend.
It is head bobbing, trying to feed it, rubbing it's head on the other, etc.
This is all normal behavior.
The other budgie isn't overly receptive at this time but hasn't taken the action to resist overtly -- it is more just sitting there allowing the "courting" to take place.
