Default Beginnings of obsessive behavior?

My new guy is doing something that I would like to stop before it gets any worse. He seems obsessed with wanting to get out of the cage and get to a window.
He goes between hopping on the floor in front of the door (sometimes for hours)
To pacing across the food dishes while calling at the top of his lungs. He doesn't seem upset or scared by anything in the cage, he just really wants to get to a window.

I've been keeping the cage partial covered or the curtains closed but it only helps a little. He still calls loudly and I don't know why.

He will settle down enough to eat once in awhile or take a little nap but he completely ignores luna, opting instead to indulge in this behavior.

He's learned that I open the door and he'll come to the door when I approach the cage, try to sneak out when I open it.

If I do take him out, he immediately tries to fly to the window but he only makes it about a foot since he is clipped.

If I put him in the bedroom and leave all the curtains closed, he completely stops this behavior. I was thinking moving the cage in the bedroom for a week or two, see if that would help him settle down and give him time to bond with luna instead of whatever it is he is looking for outside.

He seemed particularly friendly with another budgie that looked similar to him. I wonder if it was a sibling and he is trying to find it?

I have a couple videos. If the quality seems bad, adjust the quality setting to 480. youtube is wanting to play them at a very low setting and I'm not sure if I can change it.

It's not unusual for budgies settling in to have behaviour like this. He will settle down with time so don't worry about it. I'd keep the curtains closed when he's out to curb the behaviour and just have the light on instead. I assume that if you move him to the bedroom, the behaviour will be repeated in that room with the window in there.

Thank you! I was worried I had a neurotic bird lol. I feel so bad for him, he seems so intent on finding something. I'll keep his cage partial covered and the windows covered if he wants to come out.

He didn't have the same behavior in the bedroom but it only has 2 small windows and they are permanently covered.
In the living room, there are two very large windows and another in the next room over so I can never totally hide the windows from him.
