Budgie behavior

Hello, just a general budgie behavior question. I was informed I have a male and female budgie. One thing I notice is that my male budgie sings a lot and Bob's his head courting the female. Just wondering why when he sings does she sit near him flapping her wings. Just subtly flapping all the meanwhile he's singing away.
The last question I have is I've also noticed the do everything at the same time. If one is eating the other is called down to eat. If one starts pruning feathers the other does too. Everything at the same time, does anyone else notice this.
Thanks for all the help

While I can't answer all of your budgie questions - you'll have to wait for the experts on why your female flaps her wings (I've seen it but it's been a while and either I can't recall or just don't know the specifics for why). Male budgies tend to be very social and flirtatious - this is why if you want to teach a budgie to talk many sources will recommend getting a male (and no other budgie) - although females can learn to mimic human speech as well, generally speaking they are less inclined to do so.

Budgies are very social - so when one budgie starts preening it is common for others to do so as well. This also goes for eating - like many birds they are social eaters. In fact, my own budgies will often eat when I'm eating something in view of them. I hope this answers some of your questions.

Budgies are wonderful. I hope that as you get to know your budgies more that you will be able to build great memories together as you bond.

Because your female is flapping her wings subtly as the male sings and head bobs to her, she is indicating she accepts his attention and welcomes it.
This can be a precursor to mating so please be sure you are doing everything possible to discourage breeding.

As Drummer indicated, one mimicking the other's behavior such as eating, preening, etc. is typical of flock behavior and quite natural. :)

Baths

Hello. One other question I forgot to ask was about them bathing. My cockatiel I had when I was growing up would take a bath in her water bowl. I never see my 2 near the water bowl. Are they drinking at night while I sleep and will they try to bath that way? If so do they not bath during certain seasons?. I know it's winter so I would expect not. Wondered if I should be misting them. They are very active and healthy birds, just never see them drinking. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Budgies tend to be very sneaky and drink small amounts very quickly. As long as they are eating and pooping normally then they are drinking as well.

Budgies do not need to be bathed. You could see if they like to be misted, using a spray bottle and spray above them so the mist falls down on them. Some budgies like bathing, some don't.

Some budgies enjoy bathing and others don't.
There are various things you can try. You may also find they ignore the bath for a long time and then suddenly one will decide to try it and then they'll all like it!

I'd suggest you either put a shallow bowl with water in or on top the cage or get a Lix-it Bath to attach to the cage and provide them the option of bathing every few days.

You can also try placing a few fresh basil leaves or some lettuce leaves in the water. That may interest them in the bath.

Some budgies love to rub against or roll on wet leaves.
You can hang wet romaine lettuce or kale leaves in the cage or place them in a shallow dish in or on the cage to see if your budgies like them.

Some budgies enjoy being very lightly misted with room temperature water.
Do NOT squirt the water directly on the budgie.
Aim it up into the air and let the water mist settle down over the budgie gently.
You should be able to easily tell if he likes it or doesn't want any part of it.
Some budgies do enjoy playing under a light trickle of water in the sink.
Other budgies simply don't enjoy bathing which is fine as all budgies are cleaning and oiling their feathers when they preen.
