I'm one very happy budgie "mum" today. For those of you who know Jakob, she's a seeds-only type of gal. Well, with the exception of parsley.
Jakob is around 3 years and 4 months old, and I still try with veggies on a very regular basis, but today was different. I was cooking lunch and had grated courgette and red pepper. I put a little bit in Jakob's parsley dish and put her right beside it. She pecked at it and flew away. I picked her up again and moved her over to the dish again, and guess what? She started eating the courgette. She didn't want the pepper, but that's OK with me. I'm so excited she decide to finally try something other than her seeds and parsley
You have no idea how proud I am of my little girl, Deborah! I had other plans with the last courgette (or the other words it "translates" to), but she can have it until I get a delivery of more I honestly thought it was pointless to keep trying. I've used all the tricks in the book with no success, but this just seemed to inspire her to try!
