Hi again, for the past 4 days I have been trying to get my budgie, Lemon, to talk. She is a 5-year-old female. I have read many articles telling me that it is unlikely for a female bird to talk but I had thought that with enough effort there may still be a chance that I could teach her. Throughout the five years I have had her, Lemon has never talked. I have been repeating the words, "Baby bird" many times a day for about 4 days so far. At first, she would simply tweet normally. Instead of speaking, however, she has recently been making a sound I have never heard her make before. It is hard to describe it as it like a deep mumbling sort of sound but often times when she makes this sound it has a sort of tune. Is this an attempt towards speaking? I had initially thought so but now I feel like she'll never learn to talk. Should I continue trying to teach her or should I simply give up? Thank you for reading this post.
