It’s only been 4 days since I got them, but I have 2 male budgies: Link (green) and Peeka (blue). Peeka is the only one in the picture, that is where he perches and gets comfy at night. Both take 2 daily naps- one at about 10:30 and one at about 4:30, each for 30-45 min. At night, I start turning the lights and what not off at about 9 cuz they get up at like 7. They’re afraid of the dark so I have a nightlight for them (in the picture is a dull lamp). I never actually see them sleep, but they’re always well rested and singing in the morning. And, I see them get into they’re sleeping positions each night as well. I’m not sure if they get enough sleep; I just wanna make sure they stay healthy and happy, although I haven’t seen any health problems caused by this.
P.S. It doesn’t matter if I don’t make ANY noise for like 3 hours and it’s like midnight, I just never see them sleep except for naps.
Are you putting a light cover over their cage at night? This will help them to feel secure and safe (keep using the night light as well so they can see and move around their cage safely). Budgies are prey animals so if you are staring into their eyes, they won't relax and go to sleep. They'll watch you to make sure you're not going to do anything to hurt them. Budgies need roughly 10-12 hours of sleep a night as well as their naps through the day. They like to sleep on swings and perches that are up high, so arrange their cage with a good variety of sleeping position options. I'm pretty sure your boys will be getting enough sleep. I think they're just waiting for you to move away before closing their eyes and dozing off.

It's great to be attentive to your birds, but I agree with Blingy and that because you are trying to make sure they are okay and getting enough sleep, they are actually staying awake to observe you. They will just be sleeping when you're not watching them, sleeping yourself or out of the room.
Try observe them from a greater distance away so they don't feel anxious. A cover on their cage will help them and you can either use a light cover or just partially cover them so they still get the benefit of the night light.
Try not to be anxious about their sleeping habits as they can sense these things.
As you've had your birds such a short amount of time, they wont have settled in properly. Once they feel safe, they won't be so worried about you being around them. :)
Thanks for the advice! I will be trying new methods to try to ensure them a good nights rests. Usually, when I check to see if they’re asleep, I’m in my bed (I sleep in the top bunk of a bunk bed, it’s old and have just kept it cuz why not and hey it’s fun to be up by the ceiling, and no one sleeps under me) so they don’t see me watch them. I only look for a short time as well so they don’t get spooked, I’m also approximately 13 ft or 4 meters from the cage. I have a fairly big bedroom.
