Default Strange obsession

I haven't posted for many months. Twitter is doing well and just turned a year old. This past week or so she has a strange obsession with her water bottle. She keeps playing with it till it runs out of water. I checked the valve on the tube and it's not leaking. It needs to be pressed for the water to come out. The paper towels on the bottom are always wet. She doesn't seem to be trying to bath in it. Has anyone else had this problem? How can I stop her from doing this?

A great way to solve the problem is to use a dish instead. They’re easier to keep clean and wipe out than a bottle is.

Does that sound like something you’d like to try for Twitter? Is there a reason you’d rather not use a dish? We generally recommend dishes.

My avian vet said to use a water bottle because they are cleaner and less prone to bacteria. The water doesn't become contaminated like it does in open dishes.

It sounds as though she simply enjoys playing with the water. Have you offered her a bath or misted her lightly?
She may enjoy the running water feeling.
Some budgies like to bath in the sink or basin with the water coming very slowly out of the tap.

Thanks. I finally saw what she's doing. She is accidentally depressing the valve when she tries to climb on the water bottle. I adjusted the position of the water bottle a little and that solved the problem.
