My budgie has a great bond with me and will willingly fly from her cage and to my shoulder as soon as I open the cage door. I have since found out that she dosn't like me putting a finger through the bars of her cage and she bites at my finger rather aggressively. I now know to not do that and was just wondering how such a loving Bird really dislikes me poking through the cage bars.
Hi Matt, Iím glad all is going well with you and your Budgie. Your Budgie is likely attacking your fingers when you poke them through cage because she sees it as a threat. Her cage is her safe place and youíre invading that safe place by poking your fingers through the bars. Sheís defending her space, thatís all.
