Could you try poking holes in balsa wood (which should be easy to do with a screw driver or similar), and stick some paper towel through the holes?? This might encourage Birdie to chew on the balsa while she’s ripping up the paper towel. Another favourite shredding material is Sola wood sticks, very similar to balsa but a bit lighter. You can buy these from most good sites that sell bird toy parts and again, cut them to size, pine holes through them and thread some paper towel. Raffia is another option (especially for threading through the holes in the balsa or sola wood).

Just so you all know , I do very much appreciate all of your answers , and Birdie has began shredding the Balsa , all well and good ...

But , She still does the eating the fibers out of my shirt thing every chance she gets

I love having her on my shoulder , She loves being on my shoulder , but the shirt eating thing is preventing that . Anyone got any ideas of how to discourage her from doing this ?

Use very tightly woven fabric or a plastic or vinyl cape like they use at the hairdressers to put over your clothes when you have her on your shoulder.
