I am sorry I haven't been active in the last few weeks, I have been really busy as school has started.
I have spent half a day out of the house because of school since more than a week (except for the weekends), and my tamed seven-month-old female budgie Celeste doesn't seem to have taken this well.
She lives alone, as I separated her from her parents because they were aggressive toward her. They are in a different cage, but in the same room, and she can't reach them when I let her out because she doesn't fly very well.
When I separated her from them, school was about to finish so we developed a very close bond during the summer. Celeste always wanted me to give her headscratches and tried to give them to me and regurgitate seeds to me, and she learned several tricks, including basketball (I forgot to upload a video, sorry about that)!
We spent a lot of time together because I was basically always at home.
But now it is all over.
Celeste has to stay in her cage, alone, while I am not at home, as none of my relatives can keep an eye on her.
I think she is angry because I can only spend very little time with her and because she gets bored by staying in her cage for all that time. She thinks I "abandoned" her.
Now she doesn't want to stay with me and, unless I have seeds in my hand, she always bites my fingers, she refuses to let me give her headscratches and even bites my face if she can reach it.
What should I do?
I don't want to lose our beautiful relationship... do you have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
