Yes, as I said - Pepper is a MALE budgie.

Ozzie needs time - it's that simple.

Charlie hasn't been gone that long and Ozzie needs time to adjust.

Ozzie's behavior toward Pepper is perfectly normal.

Default Still Not Being very nice

Well,
its going on week 3 since I got Pepper for Oz. Pepper is a baby male budgie. When Charlie passed away I didn't want Oz alone so we had Pepper vet checked, quarantined and finally introduced to Oz, Now Oz is a 4-year-old female Charlie was also a female but she was 10 years old and passed away from a lipoma tumor. so, since Oz has a calm nice demeanor I thought to keep Oz from being lonely that getting Pepper was a good idea.

Pepper likes Oz and tries so hard to win her friendship, but after 3 weeks so far no luck. Oz moves away when Pepper gets too close and even occasionally lunges at Pepper If Pepper tries to sit next to Oz BUT Pepper still tries to get Oz to like him.

Usually, Oz just ignores her on a RARE occasion they share a treat stick or sit together and on an even rarer occasion, they sat next to ea other in the evening for a few hours and napped.

The pic of the Monkey below I thought was so funny as it really represents how Oz is acting toward Pepper. Oz is the blue bird and Pepper is the white/blue one

Is there anything I can do here?? will Oz become friendly to Pepper?? Oz is usually so nice and affectionate it is weird to see her "not like another bird"

Also, Pepper will step up when you put your hand in there BUT he won't let you pet him, What I do is pet Oz ( she loves it) and Pepper watches, I occasionally try to pet Pepper but he so far he does not like it.

Any advice on how to gain his trust? I would like to be able to not have him scared when I go in to clean their home which by the way is 3 times a day
Yes, I know its a lot! But I want them to have a clean place...

Not all budgies become best friends.
This has already been addressed in previous posts and I've merged your two threads.

Few budgies actually like being petted so be happy Oz does.
Do not try to force Pepper to be held or petted.
Bonding is about allowing a budgie to chose to be with you.

With regard to taming and bonding, you need to have a great deal of patience.
Please read the information in the stickies in the Training and Bonding section of the forum.
