Harry thinks they're all nuts. He's mildly afraid of Jones. Kevin has bitten the toes of both Jones and Nelson, so he lives with Harry, who seems to keep him in line. Jones and Nelson are in the other cage. They feed and preen each other. Harry allows no man or beast to preen him ever, but he and Kevin feed each other.
They are mostly fine if they all come out together but I have to watch them. It is pretty magnificent when they zoom around together in formation.
I've set a firm limit of 4 budgies (for now ) so Nelson will be the last (for a while ) He's been under the care of a vet since being surrendered to the humane society and it took the staff 6 weeks just to get him in adoptable condition, but his scissor beak is mostly under control, his weight is up to normal, mites are gone, and his feathers are much better. He has no toenails and he doesn't care. He doesn't make budgie noises except squawking, but he imitates some other bird... I think it's a canary but I'm not sure, really pretty singing.
All credit goes to his vet Dr. K and Nelson himself... when the humane society brought him in for assessment he was basically a euthanasia case but he was so impossibly cheerful and stoic she and the HS took a shot at restoring him. He is a very sweet, funny and gentle bird, I'm lucky we crossed paths while I was looking for a 4th boy and glad I'm the one who gets to spoil him. Hope all your birds are well also!
