Default Ideas for restricting flying in kitchen

Our cute little budgies, Calvin & Hobbes, are 3 years old. We've enjoyed allowing them to fly around the house at specific times during the day when we can watch them.

However, lately we saw a poop in the kitchen & just now realized they can poop while flying! So we need to restrict them from the kitchen when we let them out.

Of course the issue is the kitchen doesn't have a door. Does anyone have any easy ideas to prevent them from flying into the kitchen?

I was thinking some kind of nice fabric that we pin to the door jam & pin off to the side with a sash for our daily day to day life. But I don't know where to begin with this in a practical way and what wouldn't look ridiculous.

Thanks,
April

I would simply get a tension rod and hang a curtain over the door.
You can simply move the curtain to the side when the budgies are not having out of cage time.
I use the method to keep my budgies in specific areas of the home and it works great.

I'm not good with sewing, so I guess I'll look for some kind of door curtains that are relatively inexpensive...

I didnít want my Budgies going into the kitchen, so I bought I piece of fabric, got a friend to sew a pocket and threaded it onto a plastic curtain rod. When itís not needed, I tie it back with a curtain sash. It works great and didnít cost much at all to make.
