Budgie Breeding Before breeding any species, it is important to learn as much about the animals, their personalities and the best practices to follow for responsible and ethical breeding prior to making the commitment to take on the responsibility.

Hello everyone!

I was at the vet and she told me that my little one (whom I've named Merle ) is not in any physical pain and she thinks he might have an ear infection as I suspected... She's given me antibiotics for him and I'm going back for a check up with him in a week.
He is now eating by himself, but still gets the occasional feed from mum and dad.
I'm thinking of naming the other two Ragnar and Rollo, but I want to get to know their personalities better before I make an official decision.

I walked in my room today to find my pair mating again... I'm worried about her laying again so soon because she has literally just finished raising that clutch. I was contemplating taking the next box away but I don't know if she's already eggnant again...

He's beautiful

I would take the nest box out because even if she is eggnant again, you can always remove the eggs once she lays, as they won't be fertile for a while, not until she incubates them nonstop for a few days. This is the best way to prevent another clutch.

Merle looks so grown up! What a handsome boy
