Budgie Breeding Before breeding any species, it is important to learn as much about the animals, their personalities and the best practices to follow for responsible and ethical breeding prior to making the commitment to take on the responsibility.

You will prevent your female budgie from getting egg bound by not prematurely giving access to a nesting site and by having your budgies on a well balanced and varied diet and by having a good calcium and mineral source on the cage at all times. The calcium can come from a cuttlefish bone or a calcium block.
You can also get a mineral block for your budgies.

You are very new to budgies and to their care. At this point in time, breeding should not be thought of yet, since there is still a whole lot you will need to learn through real life experience into budgie ownership and from the valuable information you will find here at Talk Budgies.
Your budgies are still very young to be encouraged to breed and if you want prevent egg laying, or a situation where your very young female could end up by being egg bound, then you will have to remove from the cage any hiding areas, nesting pots and anything that can be used as a nest.

aluz has given you excellent advice and it is important you do everything possible to discourage breeding.
