Budgie BreedingBefore breeding any species, it is important to learn as much about the animals, their personalities and the best practices to follow for responsible and ethical breeding prior to making the commitment to take on the responsibility.
It has been six years since i was last on talk budgies, I still have three of my fids that i had at that time.
I have a breeding question about a hen i have that is four years old, she had a clutch of 6 eggs about three years ago. None of those eggs were fertile, i assume the younger male she was in with just didnt quite know what he was doing. I took down their nest and circumstance at the time meant i never gave them another go.
I had read that if the bird is over four not to breed from it, is this correct?
I dearly love this hen and would love to try get just one clutch from her, but if it would be more harmful to breed her at her age then of course i would not breed from her.
