Two weeks ago I took in these three babies when their parents had escaped the cage and the owner wasn't up for handfeeding them. Not having had a budgie since I was a kid 20 years ago or any type of bird in years, I came here with no clue what I was doing. I got a lot of help here, and thanks to that, the little babies grew quick and are all doing wonderful
Here is the oldest two on the day I brought them home
Here they are today
Here is the youngest on that day. The owner had tried to put him with another pair and they attacked him
Here he is today, the second pic shows some of his bald spots, but he's still a cutie
Thanks everyone, yes I plan on keeping all three. But I really hope they all keep getting along, otherwise I'm not sure. My mom said she might take one if there is someone getting picked on, but really I want them all to stay together if possible. We got them a big flight cage so that should hopefully help. Right now I have the top half blocked off while they are learning to get around. The one that seems the oldest has started flying and seems almost ready to wean, sometimes he/she refuses hand feedings and sometimes takes just a little bit.
Thanks, yes it is very rewarding and I love watching them at this stage. They are so cute and fun We finally decided on names, we were trying to wait until we were sure about the sexes but it was taking too long and they need names! We named them after soccer players from our favorite world cup teams, USA and Mexico. We picked names that are we are okay with for a boy or girl. Memo is the blue/white, Dempsey is the blue, and Gio is the little one, which will be changed to Gia if it's a girl which I think is might be.
